Organised by Action on Pre-EclampsiaThis year we are asking our supporters to consider the story of Khilna, one woman who was very ill and very lucky. Sadly due to a lack of knowledge and awareness, pre-eclampsia can be fatal. This Christmas we focus on raising awareness to save lives.

What have we done since February?
* Doubled our helpline hours to offer more support to women and families around the clock
* Organised a mammoth online meeting for 250 pre-eclampsia experts from around the world with speakers at the heart of the decision making process
* Put steps in place to make all our study day materials available online before January
* Created a one-stop-shop CPD accredited Education portal for midwives and education professionals
In 2021 help us to eliminate these.
Just one family losing a loved one is too many and this year has been so hard to bear.
Our lovely supporter Khilna would like to tell her story and explain the importance of raising awareness and continuing our hard work. But we need your help to carry on.
The arrival of our son Dylan was simply a miracle. In the early hours of 7th January 2018, I suffered two life-threatening brain seizures in quick succession, and as we later found out, this was due to extremely high blood pressure. We are forever indebted to the NHS for saving our lives. We came to learn that pre-eclampsia causes high blood pressure in pregnancy. It is more common than you think and can be fatal, as was nearly the case for us.
This Christmas we are supporting Action on Pre-eclampsia (APEC). This amazing charity focuses on increasing awareness of pre-eclampsia and supporting families who have been through it.
