Story
Abergavenny Rotary Club has linked up with the Rotary Club of Jaroslaw in Poland which is approximately 40kms from the Polish/Ukraine border. The nearest Polish Rotary Club to Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the conflict, Jaroslaw Rotary have been deeply engaged in helping the war zone refugees. Members of the Club are giving away food and water every day on the border itself, and a few of the fleeing families (children included) have been offered custody and housing. The Club takes part in coordinating material help in the border area, which happens to be important, since many Rotary Clubs worldwide have offered their help.
Your donation will go directly to Rotarians on the ground in Poland who are helping people affected by this humanitarian crisis. Abergavenny Rotary Club has already sent £500 to Jaroslaw Rotary Club from its Charity Funds. Our street collection on 22nd March raised £1,055 in cash from the very generous people of Abergavenny and this has been added to funds raised from our Just Giving Appeal, which now stands at £2,100 in total against a target set last week of £2,000. This sum is further enhanced by Gift Aid to the value of £215 making for a grand total we can send to the Polish Rotary Club of £2,315. We are sending all proceeds via Lloyds Bank Abergavenny to our fellow club in Poland without delay.
Peace is a cornerstone of our global mission. We stand with the people of Ukraine.

Thank you to all our supporters in Abergavenny and further afield for your generosity which is much appreciated
We received an email and photos from Jaroslaw Rotary on Friday 1st April which read:-
Hi Robert,
Yesterday we get 500 pounds from your Club, I want to say BIG than you, that's very helpful, Every penny counts. I'm sending you some photos where our people unload packs. You have to unload these cars and even trucks, look for warehouses and arrange transport to Ukraine. Material aid comes to us from Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands. It is a lot of work.
Cheers,
Peter Balicki - Jaroslaw Rotary Club
