*Summer should be a time of fun and excitement for children, but for many this is not the case. This can be a difficult time for families as the struggle to make ends meet. Additional costs for activities and childcare can be a strain on families who are already working extra hard to provide the meals their kids would normally get at school.
The extra strain of paying for activities during the holidays, as well as childcare for working parents can be difficult. The effects of Holiday Hunger go well beyond the holidays, with children returning to school in September malnourished, tired and unable to learn.
Throughout the long summer holidays FareShare East Midlands will be helping to tackle school holiday hunger by delivering enough food for around 90,000 meals to school holiday projects across the Region. These projects will be putting on fun activities for children throughout the holidays, as well as serving up healthy, hearty meals to the kids that take part.
With every pound donated FareShare East Midlands can provide 4 meals to a child in need. Please donate today. Your support will help us get food to children who need it most. Whatever you can give will make a difference
£10 could enable us to provide 40 meals for children at a summer project.
£12 could enable us to provide lunch for one child on every day of the school holidays.
£30 could enable us to provide breakfast for 24 children for a whole week.
Please donate what you can today and help us #ActiveAte the school holidays this summer.
We see a significant difference in the children after they eat; they are a lot more energetic and interaction with other children and the staff
improves greatly. Some families have noticed the positive impact on their childrens well-being whilst having access to healthy food 5 days a week.
