Organised by Alport UKA new fund to enable Alport UK to send blood pressure monitoring kits to those who need them. The fund will support the health of people living with Alport Syndrome, and empower them to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
Alport Syndrome is a rare inherited disease that can cause kidney failure, deafness and eye abnormalities. Many who inherit it require a kidney transplant when they are a teenager or in their early twenties. It can impact a large number of people in a family. It is the second most common form of inherited kidney disease.
High blood pressure is associated with chronic kidney disease. Providing home blood pressure monitoring kits empowers people living with Alport Syndrome to monitor and protect their health.
