Story
One way that Daring to Dream provides support for emotional health & well-being is through the creation of non-clinical, interior designed safe havens in hospitals for patients, their relatives and the staff who care for them.
These safe, comfortable, and comforting spaces are being developed in different clinical areas. They are rooms that do not feel or look like hospital rooms but offer spaces for patients to enjoy and chat with others (Patient Day Rooms), or a relaxing space for relatives to rest in when keeping bedside vigil with a loved one (Relatives' Rooms).
The Quiet Rooms provide a comforting safe space for a patient or their family to talk with clinical teams, including for those really tough conversations about end of life.
Currently we are raising funds to transform the Quiet Room in Ward B5 (Nephrology) at University Hospital of Wales. We will turn into into a comforting space such as the newly made-over Relatives' Room in Critical Care.
Thank you so much for supporting us to help us raise the funds to do this transformation. Together we can help patients and families going through tough clinical times. Diolch yn fawr iawn
