Story

AMICII RESCUE DISABILITY NOT INABILITY BEACON CHALLENGE

Another incredible challenge for Amicii

The challenge is to climb the Worcestershire Beacon!

This time some of our amazing dogs are doing the challenge with their wonderful families. The difference is that the dogs taking part have disabilities but that doesn't stop them from living a great life.

The challenge will take place on Saturday 3rd of July2021 there will be 7 dogs and their families taking part this really is no easy venture!

The aim is to raise £6,000 for the charity Amicii Dog Rescue. The money raised will go towards helping dogs that may be suffering from injuries or medical issues.

The dogs that are taking part are;

*YOSHIE who lives in Upton on Severn and uses a wheelchair to get around. He broke his back when he was hit by a car and left for dead on the side of the road. He has a number plate on his wheelchair YOSHI 1 and regularly trains on the Malvern hills.

*LEO who lives in Worcester. He was hit by a car and was found dying on the side of the road. He lost his leg, but manages very well as a tri-paws dog

*HONEY who lives in Kempsey. She was either born with her front legs deformed or suffered severe malnutrition as a puppy. When she first came to the UK she could hardly walk. She has had three operations and can now run around with her friends and dog family.

*ZAC who lives in Kempsey. He was hit by a car and was completely paralysed from the waist down. He somehow managed to learn to walk again and although he wears nappies and boots, he manages very well without a wheelchair.

*DELILAH who lives in Martley. She had an accident in the UK and badly fractured her front leg. She had three operations to try to save the leg but sadly it couldn't be saved and in the end it had to be amputated. She manages very well as a tri-paws dog.

*WALLY who lives in Kempsey and suffered a large disc rupture in his back which left him paralysed. He still has wonky legs but manages well with the assistance of a harness and his Mum.

*HATTIE lives in Staffordshire and is another Amicii tripawd dog. After battling a broken leg and sepsis, her front leg had to be amputated to save her life. Since, her story has been seen by animal activist, Ricky Gervais and other notable UK celebrities.
