Story
Last year our fabulous supporters helped us raise over £7,000 to support the vital work we do at Berkshire Vision by taking part in Take on 250. This year we need YOU to help us make an even bigger impact as we look to spread our message far and wide, whilst raising vital funds to help us support blind and visually impaired children and adults throughout Berkshire.
Demand for our support and services has more than doubled over the past 3 years and while amazing grants and trusts have helped with costs, we need to raise money to keep up with the ever-increasing number of people we are supporting. Fundraising and donations can make a huge difference and that’s why we’re asking you to take on 250 for Berkshire Vision. We hope you will be able to take part or support other people's efforts. No matter how big or small your support makes a big difference to the work we do.
Fundraise for us by choosing a new challenge or pushing yourself to achieve a new goal in something you love. There are so many ways to get involved.
Last year we had supporters like Chris Owen walking an incredible 250km in a week, Dayzie swimming an amazing 250 lengths in one day, Emma Major creating 250 pieces of wonderful art in a month and so much more!
Not only did their efforts help us raise an incredible amount of money to support our work, but their voice helped challenge perceptions by showing anything is possible.
You get to choose your own fundraising target; we just ask you to raise as much for us as you can.
Your support can help someone like Dayzie:
I really struggled to accept what was happening to me before I was a Berkshire Vision member, they have helped me massively
Dayzie started to lose her sight when she as 8, now aged 13, she has no vision at all. Dayzie struggled with her sight loss and lost many friendships, her confidence and independence. Having no sight has been a massive challenge for her as she was struggling in school and could no longer take part in many activities her peers were doing. But, with the help of Berkshire Vision, Dayzie is learning ways to adapt and cope. Dayzie takes part in our teens programme of activities that aims to build confidence and independence and she now has friends who understand what it is like to be visually impaired.
