The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileAlice was born premature weighing only 2.2lb. She was diagnosed with sepsis but unfortunately the hospital she was at discharged her in to the care of the children's department, who then placed her with Mercy Rescue. She is back in hospital now fighting for her life. Alice is approximately 2 months old and weighs a little over 4lbs.
*update - 17/05/19 Alice has been struggling to breath so the doctors did a CT Scan which showed that she has a collapsed lung with signs of pneumonia. She now needs to be transferred to a hospital in Eldoret where a surgeon can put in a chest tube and Alice can go to ICU if necessary.
*update - 30/05/19 Alice has made very slow progress but right now any progress is good progress! She opened her eyes a few days ago and has found her voice now and cries which is great!! Her lung has not yet fully recovered but the doctors say it looks better, so she is on the right path
*update - 08.06.19 Alice is finally discharged and has returned to the baby rescue centre. The staff have received special training from the hospital on how to care for her as she still has some challenges but she is free of sepsis and pneumonia and weighs over 5lb's now so she is doing well. The hospital bills today come to just short of £4000 and there will be a few more visits to come yet. We are so immensely thankful for the support we have received for baby Alice, we will be sure to keep you up to date on Instagram so please look us up on there xx
Private medical treatment in Kenya is very expensive but it is her only hope. Please help us to give Alice the best possible chance by donating as little or as much as you can and keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We will update on her condition as much as we can through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
As always, thank you to all of you who continuously support us here at Mercy Rescue Trust. We could not do any of this without you xx
