Story

It was said by the locals in Sylhet that they have not witnessed such a flood in the last 40 years. We have seen almost 4.5 million people have been affected during the recent flood in Sylhet & Sunamgonj.

Cap Foundation with its large team on the ground have spent June, July and August implementing their 1ST PHASE of the flood response aid, delivering emergency food aid to 23 sub-districts within Sunamgonj, Sylhet and Hobigonj Districts, reaching a total of just over 75,000 beneficiaries helping them with food parcel which will last at least minimum two weeks.

Although the water level has now gone down and decreased but the suffering of the people has gotten worse and this is due to food shortage, lack of access to quality healthcare, and inadequate or no access to drinking water or sanitation.

Cap Foundation is on the ground working everyday to help the people and our focus is to rebuild The Community and support the destitute people to LIVE AGAIN.

Our PHASE 2 Plan Rebuilding Sylhet

The sheer number of damaged homes across the regionis estimated to beover several hundredthousand. Whilstwe would like to support as many beneficiaries as possible, the vastness of the work that needs to be done is beyond any one charity organisations capacity and will require the input of many charities over a prolonged period of time.

As many are living with vulnerable children and the elderly without a roof over their heads.

The level of damage to homes is varied. Some of the damaged homes can be repaired by supplying tin bundles for the outer walls and repair works to the roof and with the below packages our focus is to help as much families as possible by repairing with new tin and build the houses again for them. I have thus prepared categories of support that can be provided to beneficiaries:

Corrugated Iron TIN Bundles £245

Provide TIN bundles to as much families as possible and give them the opportunity to repair their houses to start their new begining once again !

One Bedroom Shelter Home £485

One Room Accommodation - this will enable 3/4 people live together. As a group of friends, families and associates you can donate as many one bedroom units as possible to help many more families LIVE AGAIN !

Two Bedroom Shelter Home £785

Two Room Accommodations -This will facilitate 5/6 people to live together. From only £785 you could give another family HOPE again !

Household Essentials £75

Household Essentials, this includes things like all cooking items, dinner plates and water mugs as well as to provide them with mosquito nets. Help one family today to kickstart their new begining !

All the funds raised by Cap Foundations and its fundraisers will be utilised and applied as per the recommendations of our team of experts on the ground in Bangladesh. CAP Foundations Bangladesh team have undertaken detailed needs assessments, as such, priority will be given to the areas most effected by the floods in the Sylhet Division.

May Allah have mercy on the people in Bangladesh - Ameen

Best Wishes
