Every year we offer 850 young people the space they need to feel secure, respected, heard and valued. Your support will make a real difference to each and every one of them.
Story
We believe that the right start in life is crucial for a persons long-term development. Unfortunately, young people are increasingly reporting that they feel unsafe, stressed and worried about school and societal pressures. Despite this
36 per cent of young men and 32 per cent of young women say that no one has ever spoken to them about their mental wellbeing (Princes Trust, 2021).
YMCA Brunel Group is there for every young person in the community, supporting them through good and difficult times. Our team of experienced youth workers offer the spaces young people need to feel secure, respected, heard and valued.
During lockdown I wasn't coping very well being isolated from my friends and extended family, but the youth workers arranged for one-to-one wellbeing check ins which gave me someone to talk to and something to look forward to. When I started the sessions, my mood was 2/10 but after a few sessions it changed to 8/10.
