Over the last one hundred years The Rotary Club of Halifax has given continued service within the town's community. Due to celebrate its centenary in 2022, the Club wishes to provide a lasting monument in the form of a magnificent viewing platform at Beacon Hill. This will give pleasure and enjoyment to the hundreds of regular walkers and visitors who enjoy treading in the footsteps of the renowned Anne Lister (Gentlemen Jack). Anne walked from her home at Shibden Hall along the Magna Via, the mediaeval road, to the historic centre of Halifax in which are located fantastic buildings such as the 18th century recently renovated Piece Hall, the 15th century Minster, the Town Hall, designed by Sir Charles Barry, the beautiful Victorian covered market and many other splendid stone buildings. We need your support to ensure we can complete this project.
