The Belham Lane is going green!

Thanks to the Woodland Trust and the Friends of Belham, we've already been able to take up the tarmac and plant some sapling trees and hedgerow down the Bellenden Road aspect of the school, and there's more to come!

We have drawn up detailed plans for an accessible School Garden incorporating a decked pathway surrounded by lush planting. The Lane Garden will provide a green garden haven for the children and an opportunity to study and learn about nature outdoors, within the school grounds. In addition, the hedgerows will provide some protection from the pollution of Bellenden Road while also greening the local area, providing trees and a green oasis at the East Dulwich end of the road.

All the Belham children will be able to benefit from the new Lane Garden, as well as members of the local community.

We really need your help to make this happen! This garden would be a fantastic asset to the school but to complete it we need to reach our fundraising target of £17,000.

We're collecting funds now for the next two stages of the project - building the decking, and then planting the garden. We are aiming for the first stage decking and basic infrastructure to be done by the end of the Feb half term so the space is usable then to continue adding to the garden as funds permit, with the whole project being fully finished by the end of Summer term.
