St Giles the Abbot Church, Farnborough, Kent

Farnborough Parish Church, Kent. Appeal for two more bells

Since the 2012 installation of six bells, ringing has flourished and we are seeking to increase the peal to a full octave of eight. This campaign is associated with John Barnes, parish resident who sadly died in 2019. A bell will bear his name.

Story

Wednesday afternoon practices, timed to be convenient to junior school children, have attracted more learners than there are bells (six) so we are planning to increase the number of bells to eight. This project is associated with the late John Barnes, a longstanding resident of the parish, who sadly died in October 2019. John was a bellringer for over 70 years, sat on the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers for over 50 years becoming a life member. John was very supportive of this project at its outset and a new bell will bear John's name.
