Story
Bronco must have been terrified. He was found running around a village, severely underweight and with wounds and a large abscess on his shoulder.
Luckily a kind member of the public rushed him to the local vets who called the RSPCA as he was in such a terrible condition.
That's when he was brought to Bath Cats and Dogs Home, as although he was microchipped, no owner could be identified. The RSPCA are appealing to the public for any information on Bronco. Anyone who recognises him or who may have information about where he's come from is asked to contact the RSPCAs appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
Our vets immediately began to treat Broncos wounds and he was given pain medication to make him more comfortable. He was severely underweight, so also started on a diet of nutritious food to aid his recovery. Bronco has been responding well to treatment so far, his abscess has reduced quickly and wounds are healing well.
Bronco was fortunate to be brought into our care to receive the treatment and care he desperately needs, will you donate today to help with a young dogs rehabilitation?
Sadly, after what he has been through Bronco is petrified of humans, it will take some time for him to trust people again. He is completely shut down and freezes when in contact with people, glued to the spot, its heart-breaking to see. It will be a gradual process with lots of positive reinforcement that people aren't scary. His carers will work at Broncos pace, to do what it takes for him gain the trust he needs to live a happy life.
Please donate what you can towards his care today, your support will help with medical treatment, providing shelter, food and dedicated staff to care for Bronco. We will keep you updated on our social media, with photo updates on Broncos progress (Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @bathcdh), thank you in advance for your support!
(His target is based on the average costs of 8 weeks of care for a dog, any additional funds over target will go towards the care of other vulnerable animals arriving in our care.)
