The Village Connect Trail fundraising donations for Buryfields Infant School will support our 21/22 project to improve the school library which is in need of a big lift. Our aim is to make the whole area work better, as an intervention space, with shelving/book storage that is more infant friendly, and so that it is more inviting and usable for parents/families before and after school.

The library project will also support the purchase of new books to replace those that have been well loved or are out of date. Miss English and the staff at Buryfields have already improved the selection of books that support the schools equalities objective of ensuring that all children are represented in the characters in books that they have access to at school. The school is striving to increase its resources to have a more diverse range of characters and books based around our Learning Powers such as Celebrate Difference and also around mental health.

Although space is an issue, the PTA will work with the school to find some creative library improvement ideas to make the Library an exciting and engaging space for our learners and staff.
