Standing side by side with our NHS

Since 1948, Royal Voluntary Service has proudly stood side by side with the NHS. We have provided vital support to vulnerable people on hospital wards and in the community and when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, this was no different. Royal Voluntary Service was called upon to recruit a new army of volunteers to deliver vital support to vulnerable people in England to remain safe and well at home the NHS Volunteer Responders.

In nearly 200 hospitals across Britain, Royal Voluntary Service run welcoming cafes and shops that provide much needed refreshments, a safe space and friendly face for hardworking hospital staff. Your donation will show hospital workers across Britain appreciation for all that theyve done for us, and allow us to continue to provide our vital services during this time of great need.

Our services are a lifeline to those who need us. Your donation today will help us to support people to rebuild strength after illness, recover after a stay in hospital and avoid unplanned readmissions, access medical appointments, reconnect with their communities, and build resilience through a selection of our online and offline services.

It feels like a little community

Our hospital shops and cafes are so much more than simply buying food and drinks. Having the RVS coffee shop in the outpatients department meets so many needs for both patients and staff. It feels like a little community and always a welcoming space which feels almost un hospital like, which is lovely when one is having a challenging day and you need to step away.
