CamCRAG was founded in 2015 by activists in and around Cambridge, with the aim of sending donations and volunteers to help refugees in the Calais area. We also organise donation drop off days, raise awareness of the refugee situation in Europe, and provide funds to frontline organisations.

Story

The war in Ukraine has created the largest refugee crisis in Europe in almost a century.

Since 2015, Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group has been sending aid and volunteers where they are needed across Europe. Helping in a crisis is what we do.

Church groups and home-owners in Moldova have welcomed 200,000 Ukrainian refugees, more per capita than any other country. Moldova is an impoverished country with scarce resources. Our partner NGOs there have told us they are struggling to find enough food for the new arrivals.

This crisis comes on top of an existing refugee crisis which has left thousands of people fleeing war and persecution trapped in camps. Thousands are still living without shelter or support in the mud around Calais. With your help we can buy food for refugees in Moldova and Calais. Because one thing Ukraine has taught us is that war and destitution could happen to anyone.
