Monday 22nd June marks the first day of Childrens Hospice Week 2020; a time to recognise the vital care that EACH provides to families across East Anglia, free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Coronavirus pandemic has created an extremely challenging and uncertain time for people across all communities. For the highly vulnerable group of children and their families EACH cares for, it presents incredibly huge risks.
Whilst less vulnerable members of the UK population will see an ease in restrictions over coming weeks and months, EACH service users, alongside their parents and siblings are likely to be amongst the last to be able to come out of lockdown. Many may not be able to safely leave their homes until a vaccine is found. They will be under immense pressure and strain, and need us now more than ever.
It is absolutely essential for these children and those who we will care for in the future, that EACH is able to continue to deliver high quality, specialist palliative care and hospice support in these difficult times.
Any contribution you can make at this time is greatly appreciated and will ensure we can continue to support families across East Anglia in the months to come.
