The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profile500 Coventry people start to lose their sight every year. How would you cope? That's where we come in! CRCB helps people from all across our city by providing long term practical, emotional and social support so that people who are losing their sight can live as fully and independently as possible and not become isolated.
There are many ways you can support us:
Donate to our CRCB Staff Team TakeOn50 Cycling Challenge - that's 5 staff, 1 exercise bike and 250km over 4 weeks in January 2022! We are a pretty unfit bunch so this is going to be a real challenge and your donations will really motivate us!
Or, seeing as we give visually impaired people a fresh start and New Year is a time of fresh starts, why not push yourself with a challenge and brighten up your January? Choose a new challenge or take on something you know you love. Either way, its a great kick start to your New Year. Walking, running, cycling or swimming; cake-baking or singing; dancing or knitting; its all up for grabs and you complete 250 of whatever challenge you decide. It could take 250 minutes or hours, involve 250 steps or laps, 250 repetitions or making 250 items.
Whatever you raise it will make a big difference to people like James.
Before I started coming I hardly ever went out and was stuck at home most of the day. I had no confidence about going out because of my limited sight. When I first went to the Centre I was a bit quiet but they were very helpful and friendly and I met other people living with sight loss. I learned how to use a computer with really big text to type some football poems and now I can go out four days a week. I've discovered that with the right help I can be really creative and enjoy making things, which I love.
