Story
Child trafficking and child slavery is a huge issue in Nepal and the extended lockdown due to Covid-19 has only exacerbated the problem. Desperate families are sending their children away to work in the capital city of Kathmandu in the hope of getting an income. However this rarely happens. The child is put to work but never receives a single rupee.
This March we are setting ourselves the challenge of covering the 4,550 miles to Nepal to raise vital funds to rescue and care for more forgotten children. Wherever you are in the world, set yourself a target so that between us we can cover the distance from London to Kathmandu!
We need as many people as possible to join us walk/ride/swim/row the 4,550 miles to Nepal and help us to end child slavery. Every little helps!
Join us as we walk through Germany sipping on beer and eating bratwurst, swim the channel or cycle through the wilds of Kazakhstan drinking shubat (camels milk) and eating beshbarmak!
There are two ways you can use JustGiving to support the campaign:
1. Walk and donate: Decide how many miles you are going to walk (cycle, row or swim) and then click here to make a donation. Let us know how many miles you will be walking in the 'Why are you supporting Child Rescue Nepal' box.
2. Walk and fundraise: Decide how many miles you will walk (cycle, row or swim) and then click here to set up a set up a fundraising page to share with your friends, family and supporters. You can do this on your own or in a team. If you are walking and fundraising as a team, you will need to add all the names of your team members when you create your fundraising page. We will be in touch to help you maximise your fundraising.
Please email us at info@childrescuenepal.org if you need help getting set up.
