Story

Please help us support our staff and their work.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is likely that a number of our staff members will need to take time off work - for example, they may need to self-isolate due to their own or family members' health conditions. To support Care Support Workers who are facing financial difficulties, we will help them access Government assistance. We have also allocated an amount of funding from our unrestricted reserves - topping up staff income to 100% of normal amounts for the first two months of the crisis.

As a charity, however, we cannot plug this gap for a long period - because we must also ensure that we continue to invest our money into our essential services. These services are critical in reducing pressure on unpaid carers; providing regular homecare to people with disabilities and long term health conditions (including end of life care); and supporting the NHS by preventing admissions and helping more people safely out of hospital as soon as possible.

As we continue to support vulnerable people across the UK, we hope you'll consider supporting us by donating to our new Welfare Appeal.

Funds raised from our Welfare Appeal will be combined with funds from our recent 'Step Chellenge ' and will be used to help:

- Assist Care Support Workers facing emergency financial challenges due to the pandemic

- Employ more Care Support Workers to our organisation to fill a service gap if it emerges

- Keep our essential services running and enable us to continue adapting where required

- Reduce the overall impact of Coronavirus on our charity, so we can emerge strongly when the pandemic is over

As an organisation, our main focus is our people our staff, unpaid carers and people needing care. Please consider a donation to our fundraising appeal, and join us in helping them.
