Caraline was founded in February 1994, by our Clinical Director Claire Jackson who recognised a lack of support services for those living with an eating disorder.

She started a helpline in memory of her friend Caraline Neville Lister who died of anorexia in 1994 in the front room of her home in Luton using her own home telephone number. From there the charity moved to Kline House, our dedicated therapy centre in Luton, and now has a team of Therapists and support staff our telephone number is the same today!

Caraline's Therapy Centre "Kline House" was funded by the National Lottery in 1996. Since then we have maintained the building at our own cost.

COVID-19 has put a tremendous strain on our resources and we've made many investments into IT equipment and also new staff so we can continue to provide our service to those living with eating disorders in the Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes and Hertfordshire areas. We now want to upgrade our Therapy Centre to provide a calming, restorative and professional environment for both our clients and staff. immediate requirements are:

* New Furniture (desks, desk chairs, therapy chairs, soft furnishings and pictures for the walls.

* Labour

* Window Cleaning/Ivy removal

* Dishwasher to ensure that crockery/cutlery is cleaned to a high standard to reduce the spread of COVID-19

Our Executive Assistant Rebecca (who's a bit handy with a drill!) has planned, purchased and assembled the flat pack furniture herself to reduce labour costs but required a bit of help for the more complex tasks.

Our ultimate goal is to provide a welcoming, therapeutic and professional environment for both our clients and staff.
