Chomp - supporting hungry kids!
Help us raise funds to feed those children that are entitled to free school meals, to ensure that no child needs to go without a hot daily meal during the school holidays.
Story
Many families are struggling to put food on the table right now; the number of children eligible for free school meals has risen by 42% since lockdown in March 2020. The Chomp Project has been specifically supporting children entitled to free school meals since 2013, by running lunch and activity sessions across the city. During lockdown we adjusted our service to provide and deliver food boxes to families who were struggling - we delivered over 1200 food boxes to 200 families supporting 450 children. With schools shutting and food provision uncertain during half term, up until Christmas and into 2021, the struggle for these families continues.
We want to continue to support these families by a range of activities and initiatives, including hot meals and activity sessions (much reduced to ensure they are Covid-safe), vouchers, food boxes etc. But we really need your help!
