Christmas Singing Relay

Organised by Eating Stones Fund

Pupils from schools around the UK will sing Christmas songs in relay. Each school chooses a time slot & sings from the same song sheet, to create a unified voice for good. Devised by Dame Allan's School to demonstrate young people's force for change.

Eating Stones Fund UK aims to relieve poverty & sickness in Kenya, through education & access to effective, holistic healthcare. We work with grassroots projects, listening to those we support to understand what they need to help them out of poverty, tailoring our approach to their specific needs.

Story

6th form pupils studying Social Enterprise at Dame Allan's School in Newcastle-upon-Tyne were inspired to organise this event by Chris Ferry, a former pupil of the school and founder of the charity Eating Stones Fund. "Chris has highlighted how one young person can start a chain reaction that changes many peoples lives."

"Because the event is pupil-led and aims to span the whole country, we don't think anything like this has been attempted before. We intend to raise funds for charities but, just as important, we want to raise awareness amongst young people of their ability to make a real difference."

All the funds raise by Dame Allan's School and 50% of that raised by other schools will be donated to Eating Stones Fund. Each school will donate the remaining funds to a charity of their choice.
