Story
Meet Kofi.
Kofi is 10 years old and from the north east. He is diagnosed with Autism, has learning and behavioural difficulties too. Aswell as these he also has sensory issues, severe sleep issues and severe anxiety which effects him daily. Due to his range of difficulties Kofi needs24/7 care and supervision, and cannot be left alone for his own safety. Kofi has no sense of danger and will often headbutt and hit people and things in the home such as the walls and doors. He has also tried to do more dangerous things in the past such as opening upper floor windows. Kofi sleeps very little, the family are lucky if it is a couple of hours each night and as he is only in a standard single bed at the moment Kofi is able to get out of his bed and room and roam the house. This is not only incredibly dangerous but is also extremely draining to his parents and is causing a real strain on the family.
Kofi and his family have signed up with us here at the Bradley Lowery Foundation to fundraise for a SafeSpace bed. This bed is designed to have room for Kofi to be comfortable, express his sensory needs but also most importantly keep him safe throughout the night.
Any funds not used for the intended cause will go towards supporting other children.
