Story

Were here for you because youre here for us

Andy Barkers wife Belinda received end of life care at St Giles in 2015. Since she passed away he has become a volunteer and raised thousands by playing the hospice lottery, and by taking part in Cycle St Giles and Miles 4 St Giles.

Andy said: Belinda was in St Giles for 10 days before she passed away. She had excellent care, you really could not fault it. Everyone at the hospice did everything they could for her and they supported me for as long as I needed it afterwards and helped me to cope with my loss.

Its so reassuring to know that St Giles Hospice is there for you when you need it they care for everyone so well which is why its so important to support the hospice as much as we can.

He added: You dont have to be Tour de France quality to take part in Cycle Autumn. I first did Cycle St Giles three years ago with my sister-in-law. I hadnt used my bike much at the time I just jumped on my bike and took part!

I was also a steward at Cycle Spring this year and it was great to see all the families and casual cyclists just having fun and raising funds while having a good day out.
