Say Hello to the adorable DIXIE a sweet little 6 month old puppy.

We agreed to take DIXIE for adoption from a rescue centre near Bucharest.

In December 2020 DIXIE suffered from distemper along with other puppies that were with him luckily, unlike some of the other puppies, DIXIE survived.

DIXIE is now in the UK but he is very underweight and skinny he can't seem to hold his weight. And although he is just 6 months old he isn't a playful puppy he has no energy at all.

Today DIXIE went to the vets where they are undertaking diagnostic tests to find out what's wrong with him. They suspect EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) or acute IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease). He needs help to get to the point where we have a diagnosis so we can decide what treatment he needs.

UPDATE ON DIXIE 16TH MARCH 2021

Today DIXIE spent the day at the vets having lots of test to rule things out.

The poor baby is only half the body weight he should be and his fur is falling out!!

They are pretty sure that the problem is EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency) as they suspected.

We set our original target at £200 to begin with until we knew what treatment Dixie needed we have had to alter our target to £300 which covers the tests £256 and £47 for the medication.
