Whilst we are closed due to COVID-19, our zoo keepers are caring for all of our 400+ animals, every single day, with the same love, care and dedication they deserve.

A surprise change in law has now taken place, adding zoos to the official closed businesses list for the first time.

This means that Dartmoor Zoo has been told we will be unable to open indefinitely.

We are ready to welcome you back safely into our 33 acre site full of fresh air and green space, but this cannot happen yet.

We are still fighting to protect the species that call Dartmoor Zoo home and need your help now more than ever.

Even after making considerable cuts, our zoo costs £45,000 a month to run, which means we need £11,500 a week, a target we are currently not reaching.
