On Wednesday 4th August, I will be performing a dancing busk-athon in Lowestoft's town centre to raise funds for local charity Access Community Trust - so they can continue to support the growing number of people locally who struggle with their mental health.
As a retired GP, who has lived and supported many people locally over my career I want to highlight that people of any age may struggle with their mental health and should not be afraid to seek assistance.
At the age of 93, I also want to prove to ALL - that age is all but a number and the benefits and enjoyment of dancing can improve mental and physical health - whatever your age!
My motivation for this event draws strength from the tremendous achievements of the late Captain Tom Moore and I will be entering this event into a national competition for people in their 90's - to do something out of the ordinary 'and character' for my age. This
challenge, which is judged by Captain Tom's daughter encourages those in their nineties to 'Grow old disgracefully'.
Dig deep for such a worthy cause!
Best Wishes - Dr Chris.
