Our current base, at the Sussex Yacht Club in Shoreham, is being demolished to make way for flood defences to protect the town. However, this has given us an opportunity to ensure that the new clubhouse is rebuilt with accessibility at its heart.
With the right facilities and kit, our members will be able to access sailing with the freedom of total independence from their front door to the point that they need to get out on the water.
To realise our dream of creating a fully accessible centre of sailing excellence we need to raise £538,000. Our first ambitious target is to reach £225,000 before the end of 2019; this will cover the costs of the essential access ramps.
We want many more people, with all kinds of disabilities, to have the confidence to try sailing and experience the feeling of freedom it gives.
Your support of this fundraising campaign will make a real difference to real lives.
