Summer 2020 saw the PTA launch its first Covid fundraiser in support or our local community. Thanks to the generosity of our parent/staff community we were able to support many local key workers. We sent fresh food parcels to our Ambulance crews, sweets and treat parcels to our refuse teams and an assortment of requested items to ESH key workers (Manuka honey to help prevent facial scarring from PPE, food, toiletries and so on). We ran a competition at school to design thank you posters for key workers and the winning students saw their designs printed onto over 150 mugs. These mugs were delivered to all local care homes with letters of thanks - thanking the key workers for working so hard to keep our elderly safe. Mugs were delivered to ITU and other staff and the thanks we received in return was unprecedented - knowing that the Dunottar community cared about and appreciated the monumental effort of our unsung NHS staff went a long way.

Supporting our community in 2021 continues to be the priority of Dunottar School PTA as Covid sadly continues to wreak havoc. We have been back in touch again with East Surrey Hospital to ask what can we do to help?. We have received initial requests for sets of tea/coffee/biscuits/soft drinks for the staff break rooms as well as toiletries for the staff washrooms and for them to take home at the end of their long shifts.

The PTA are kick starting this 2021 fundraiser with £500 and are in the processing of buying items to take up to the hospital. It would be great if we could raise £2,000, matching what we raised last summer.
