T.Rowe Price is carrying the baton for east London
A team of fundraising heroes from T.Rowe Price are taking on the #RemoteRelay to run, wheel or walk 10k for East London Cares
How it works
Each member of the team will complete their 10k remotely between the 3rd and the 17th of May 2021. They'll pass the baton between one another virtually, covering 100km collectively (or maybe even more!) and raising vital funds to connect older and younger neighbours.

Why it matters.
Even before the pandemic, two fifths of all older people (about 3.9 million) said that the television is their main company. East London Cares seeks to tackle the growing problem of loneliness amongst older and younger people, alike, by connecting them through group social clubs and one to one friendships.
During the pandemic, our community has needed friendship and support more than ever, so for the past year, we've been connecting neighbours remotely.
We've hosted 138 Virtual Social Clubs, where older and younger neighbours come together to enjoy a range of activities on Zoom, as well as phone-in clubs, for those without internet. Our community has enjoyed theatre workshops, magic shows, and virtual discos.
We've created 18 one one to one friendships, matching older and younger neighbours to share stories and keep one another company over the phone.
And we've supported 385 older neighbours with regular check in calls, support with urgent needs such as food deliveries, and support to get online and improve digital skills.
