At The Brick social action sits at the heart of everything we do. Our vision is to stand alongside people with compassion and respect - offering practical support as they rebuild their lives, while also challenging and addressing the root causes of hardship and inequality.

Story

With increasing prices, interest rates and soaring bills demand for services at The Brick has never been higher. Working at The Brick, I can see first hand the effect the cost of living crisis is having on our local communities. Unfortunately, as the weather turns colder, more people and families in Wigan will become destitute, cold and hungry.

I decided to run the Wigan 10K to help boost funds for The Brick over the winter period. I enjoy running and wanted to set myself a challenge. Winter is going to be a tough time for everyone and I wanted to do something positive for my local community. I know all the funds I raise, will go directly to helping vulnerable people and families in Wigan. The Brick is a fantastic and much-needed charity.
