Story

Fairy G is back for one night only......

Taking time out of her busy schedule Fairy G will be joining us on Friday 4th September at 7pm to host a Socially Distanced Bingo Fundraiser, supporting a cause very close to her heart to raise funds for the basic running costs and restoration of St John the Evangelist, Upper Norwood so it may continue to be enjoyed by the local community.

Adhering to the current safety guidelines the church will be clean however if you came to see Fairy G in Cinderella earlier this year the same can't be said for her material! Joking apart she has promised to be on her best behaviour as this is a family friendly event, so if you are Lucky Seven or Top of the Shop you will have a great time full of fun and laughter!

Entry is by a minimum donation of £5 per person which includes one card per game but if you would like to give a little more please do as all amounts are gratefully received.

When you receive your confirmation email for you your donation from JustGiving please forward this to sjunmarketing@gmail.com stating how many tickets you have donated for and we will send you an email with an e-receipt to show on the night; either printed or on your phone. If you are coming with people from your household or bubble please let us know so we can allocate an area together.

There will be a cash bar but no food will be available so we encourage you to bring your own to enjoy during the evening.

To keep everyone safe we would ask that you adhere to the following rules on entering the building:

Wear a mask/ face covering unless you have a legitimate reason not to.

Use the hand sanitiser provided on entering and leaving the building.

Keep a social distance of 2 metres from anyone not in your household or bubble.

Toilets are available but you must thoroughly clean the area after using with the product provided.

If you or any members of your household feel ill or have been with anyone who has symptoms please do not attend.

We will also need to take your contact details as part of the government's Track & Trace system.

We look forward to seeing you for a Full House - Socially Distanced of course!

About the charity

St John’s is a large building with room for everyone. We are an inclusive church welcoming people of every age, background, colour, sexuality, gender identity, and experience. We are a mix of people of Christian faith, people exploring their beliefs, and, of course, people who have doubts. Our life together centres on the High Mass which takes place at 10am on Sundays. Our wonderful choir supports our worship, and Sunday School takes place most weeks with worship and activities for children. A crèche area is also provided for younger children. All are welcome. As well as worship, we are engaged in various ways with children and young people, we offer opportunities for friendship and support, and also for learning about and nurturing faith. We are engaged in our local community, working with those of all faiths and none to improve the quality of life across our parish. St John’s has a strong musical life, hosting recordings and recitals as well as having its own active choir and fabulous organ.
