Story

Ian started working at Five Spires in September 2020 as the site manager. With a background in the police of 32 years. Ian was a keen runner when he was younger, starting again on his 50th birthday (due to an expanding waist line). He has since completed numerous 5k, 10k, half marathons and 3 full marathons. This has then led to the big ultra marathon challenge in the Cotswolds. Setting out from Cirencester, there is 2,250 m of ascent (this is the equivalent of putting Snowdon on top of Ben Nevis!). The continuous challenge will see Ian run continuously for 100km in a loop around the Cotswold Path, to give you some idea this is the distance of running from Lichfield to Manchester Airport.

We hope to raise money for the school so we can purchase new outdoor exercise bikes to compliment the trim trail. This then helps us promote the importance of physical education and a healthy life style. The children love their time on the trim trail and by adding new and exciting equipment this will inspire them to develop a positive attitude towards exercise.
