Story

George was a great cyclist and also a great supporter of disabled children. Many will remember the 25 mile bike rides he helped to organise, using his extensive knowledge of the paths around the Forest of Dean - and his useful detours to the local hostelries for refreshments! The money raised went to support a special nursery for disabled children at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, which is now incorporated in The Chamwell Centre. Chamwell is a new £5.1 million Centre for disabled childrens sports, leisure and therapies, including a large hydrotherapy pool, which will open in September 2020.
