Story

Following the successful completion of our Pig Barn & Woodland and our Home for Rescued Hens, we now want to create a dedicated area for our group of rescued goats, as they certainly deserve it!

The Goat Village will include several features to enhance the lives of our rescued goats -

A new shelter

The new area will include a spacious shelter, filled with cosy straw and divided into sections so that the goats can sleep in their individual friendship groups. The shelter will sit on a hard-standing base, useful for the wetter months of the year.

Climbing frame or tower

Its well known that goats love climbing, so the focus of the area will be a large climbing frame or tower structure where our goats can play safely to their hearts content.

Enrichment opportunities

There will also be fun enrichment items such as platformed walkways and scratching posts, and the whole area will be safely fenced, allowing visitors to observe our goat gang enjoying life at the sanctuary.

About our rescued goats

Our sanctuary is home to 11 mischevious goats, all with their own unique personalities and rescue stories! Take Penelope and Gandalf, for example. They were found tied up and abandoned in the corner of a field. Thankfully, a member of the public spotted them and we were able to take them in.

The pair particularly enjoy playing on their log pile, munching on hay, browsing the hedgerows, and, of course, getting into trouble on a daily basis! While Gandalf is known for his bossy ways (he's not afraid of using those extra large horns), Penelope has proved somewhat of an escape artist and is forever keeping us busy with her daring high jumps over the fence and into the sheep field!

We'd love to offer Penelope, Gandalf, and their friends a dedicated area here at our sanctuary, where they can explore, play, and enjoy just being goats!
