Story
Knowsley is the second most deprived borough in the UK, with high levels of poverty, generational unemployment, teenage pregnancy, low life expectancy, poor literacy and poor mental health.
Due to the current financial climate, there is more pressure now than ever on charities. Demand for our service has risen by 48% over the last 2 years, with people desperate for support with the following needs:
Isolation, Adult and children's mental health, Maternal & Paternal perinatal support, Special Educational Needs pathway support, Domestic Violence, Building relationships, Support to access statutory services, managing children's behaviour, debt management and families having to choose between food and fuel.
We have been receiving more and more referrals from Social care, Health visitors, GPs, Mental Health teams, Early Help and Educational settings but we are not currently in receipt of any Government or Health funding.
Funding is getting increasingly difficult to source with greater need than ever and less opportunities available. With this in mind, Home-Start Knowsley staff, volunteers including Sam Thompson from NatWest Group will be climbing Mount Snowdon on 13th May 2023. All funds raised will support Knowsley families through 1-1 Home-visiting, Perinatal Support, Support for Parents with children with SEN, Counselling services,Targeted group support and Family Events/Activty Days.
