Havering Volunteer Centre (HVC) is a local charity that have been able to mobilise and respond immediately to local need as we all face such uncertain times.

HVC are currently supporting over 700 residents in various areas, such as, food parcels, dog walking, check in and chat calls, click and collect deliveries and prescription collection and delivery, we know from feedback how vital the provision of these services have been.

HVC feel compelled to respond to this need and support the community and maintain their safety but we cannot do this alone and need a little help from our friends.

We are calling for those in the community who are able to get behind us and support HVC to continue to deliver this vital service free of charge to those who are in need.

By coming together as a borough and supporting each other we can face these challenging times together and carry each other through troubling times.

"Thanks to the quick thinking of whoever it was that got a social worker to get in touch, I now have carers visiting me twice a day. That has become a big help, especially now that Im having more bad days than good.

I want you to know that everything has helped the effort to keep me going, and I am grateful to all those whove done their part for me "

One of our volunteer dog walkers said:

"I have just got back from my Volunteer dog walking of Modo. He is so cute! We hit it off immediately, he loved his walk and I loved walking him.

I am happy to walk him regularly everyday as part of my daily fitness walk and this would be no trouble and my great pleasure. His owner said I can walk him as often as I like which makes me happy.

I would like to thank HVC for choosing me as a volunteer to walk dogs and Modo is an absolute joy. We both had great fun on our walk and cannot wait to take him out again. "
