Heal is delighted to host the Riverside Run for the first time since 2019 in aid of Ataxia UK.

10,500 people in the UK have ataxia. Ataxia is an umbrella term for a group of neurological disorders that affect balance, coordination and speech. There are many different types of ataxia that affect people in different ways. Ataxia UK the leading national charity in the UK for people affected by any type of ataxia. The charity funds research into finding treatments and cures, and offer advice, information and support to people affected by the condition. Heal co-director Sallys daughter has an ataxic condition called Friedreichs Ataxia and therefore Heal is delighted to support the work of this wonderful charity.

Heal is a Dundee and St Andrews based healthcare clinic offering Physiotherapy, sports massage, pilates and exercise classes alongside access to onsite appointments with private surgeons and doctors. We use the Riverside Run to encourage you to join us for a 4km or 2km distance. You can choose to run the 4km route, or walk the 2km instead. We love to see people keeping active so we would love you to join us. You do not need to have used the clinic to participate in this event.

Whether you are a seasoned runner or want to set yourself a goal, everyone is welcome to come along. For those who prefer to walk, we have included an option for you this year too.

The event will start next to the River Tay, adjacent to Discovery Point Museum, and head out along the Riverside footpath. There will be turn at 2km for those who chose to walk, a turn at 4km for those who are running. This event is an out and back course and will finish at the same point as the start. The event is all on the pavement with no road sections. As for previous years, the race will start in front of the Discovery Point Museum.
