Supporting the COVID-19 Kitchen Food Distribution Scheme

Back in April 2020, Shree Jalaram Mandir and Community Centre Greenford, joined hands with Desi Dhaba and the Covid 19 Response Kitchen to the serve, the NHS, Frontline Homeless and the venerable people.

Between April and Mid July 2020, no less that 160,000 meals were served. At the peak of the pandemic between 2500-3000 meals were served a day. A Big thank you to all volunteers, donors (free food, and those who gave money), and all the staff at Desi Dhaba, Jalaram Sweet Centre and other kitchens who assisted during this period.

Most organisations have now stopped providing this service. However, in following Jalarambapas ethos to feed those most in need, Shree Jalaram Mandir and Community Centre Greenford, has taken over this service from 16th July 2020.

Currently, we are on average supplying 250-300 meals a day to any vulnerable, sick, elderly who cannot manage themselves. This is provided Free of charge.

But as we all know, nothing comes free. We therefore need support from the devotees, general public and businesses. One can donate money via this just giving page, or businesses could supply us with free ingredients, fruit and vegetables etc

You can also help by delivering food packages for us.

NO Amount is too small or large for this cause and if you are a tax payer, remember to tick the Gift Aid box so the charity can get an extra 25% from HMRC
