Standing at a formidable 8,848m, the summit of Mount Everest offers the perfect backdrop for this trek of a lifetime. Starting in Lukla, Kenny's route will take him through Sherpa villages, past beautiful monasteries and over jaw-dropping suspension bridges until he will reach the base camp of the worlds highest mountain. Kenny wonder at the scenery below the highest point of Kala Patthar before celebrating in mystical Kathmandu.
Kenny is fundraising for a New Home for Paces so we can support up to three times as many children, adults and families in the future from around our region.
At Paces we believe that everyone has the right to achieve their true potential; we believe in ability, not disability! At Paces, through a method of support called Conductive Education we teach our children life-changing skills such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, communication and self-care all in an environment they can have fun, develop friendships, and feel like they belong.
We deliver an Adult Sessional Programme, where we support those living with the effects of a Stroke, MS, Parkinsons, and Brain Injury. In these sessions, we re-teach the skills which have been lost due to their illness.
We also offer a special needs curriculum for 3-18 years olds as we do not believe that a childs education should suffer due to their disability. This means that if we start supporting a child from three years old we could be part of their support network throughout their whole life, as once they have moved from education they can join our adult service and reap the benefits of this programme.
