Story

Kingsley Hall has been serving local community since 1929 and is as vital today as ever.

From our Community Centre at the heart of the Becontree Estate, Dagenham, we were welcoming more than 2,500 visitors a week before Covid-19 struck. In 2020 we coordinated local response to the pandemic, giving away more than 40,000 items of food, providing doorstop Care Packs, Food Parcels, Prescription Drops and Telephone Buddying to more than 1,000 local isolated and vulnerable people and providing pastoral support to 100s of people throughout the year.

We have been delivering our ambitious 5year community led vision for full redevelopment of our large site of over an acre of land. This includes exciting new and refurbished community spaces for early years, youthwork, social enterprise, worship, housing, healthy living and wellbeing, mental health support and projects for people with multiple and complex needs.

We are almost there and are currently constructing our world class new LIVEWELL Centre offering a welcome to all from innovate spaces for creatives, safe places to eat and socialise, with recreational health and fitness studios, latest accessibility features, green space to plant and grow and health and fitness facilities. We are also renovating our existing community hub including our essential Social Supermarket and foodbank, support for the homeless and Sports Hall and training rooms providing cutting edge youth provision and inclusion for people from a background of disability.

We have raised more than £5M to make this vision a reality but now need your help for the final leg to complete the work. We need your donation to enable interior decoration, disabled access, create great outdoor spaces and deliver services and all the things that make the most difference to community.

Your support would pay for food to serve local people living in poverty, training for volunteers to help support mental health and peer mentoring to raise up a generation of young people.

All donations will be gratefully received and will help to build a lasting legacy of community spaces and empowered people.
