Story

Lily Pub Quiz

Thanks for donating to the Lily Pub Quiz! It's a virtual quiz night for the whole family, organised by The Lily Foundation in support of people affected by mitochondrial diseases.

Each quiz will be live-streamed via YouTube by a celebrity host, starting on April 9 with Josh Widdicombe, TV comedian and presenter Channel 4's The Last Leg.

You can play solo, form a team with your family, or use a group video app like Zoom, Whatsapp or similar to invite your mates. It's the perfect way to enjoy a great night out while staying in!

Donations

We suggest a donation of £3 to £5 per quiz, but please give as generously as you can. Going out isn't an option right now, so the money you might otherwise spend in the pub will be going to a very worthwhile cause instead. When you look at it that way, giving doesn't cost a penny!

Pint = £4 donation

Glass of wine = £5 donation

It's your round! = £20 donation

Why we need your support

Coronavirus is a concern for everyone, and for those affected by mitochondrial diseases this is a particularly difficult time. Many mito families have seriously ill children who have a reduced capacity to fight infection and need 24-hour care. Even in normal times these households often feel vulnerable and isolated, and struggle to get access to the help they need. Having to self-isolate to protect their loved ones from contagion, many are facing unprecedented emotional, financial and medical challenges. In recent weeks our charity has been inundated with calls from parents wondering how they will cope. With the NHS overstretched and the voluntary care sector under threat, the work we do at The Lily Foundation has never been more vital.

Our charity is itself facing some big challenges. With many of our annual fundraising activities cancelled or postponed, we're having to work extra hard to provide support to the vulnerable people who depend on us. By donating to Butterfly Club, you'll be helping us keep working to support families affected by mitochondrial diseases. Thank you for making a difference.
