Story

We at Parish Mary, Mother of God Bradford are going to World Youth Day in Lisbon from 31st July - 7th August. This is going to be a jammed packed week of journeying together amongst meeting other like-minded Catholics from all over the world. To make this happen we need your help if you are able to be charitable towards us in experiencing our first World Youth Day. Then we ask you to fund us to go. We believe this to be something that would greatly benefit our faith and we can't do this alone. If you have any spare cash simply use the link to give, this money will help us, travel, fund our hotel, experience conferences, join thousands upon thousands for Mass with Pope Francis, and socialise with like-minded young Catholics.

What were excited for

I'm excited to go to WYD Lisbon because I can't wait to meet other people and make new friends from all around the world. I'm excited to connect with other people through our faith who share the same or similar beliefs as myself. I am looking forward to experiencing a different experience abroad in a country I have never been to and strengthening my faith and relationship with God through this trip. I look forward to this trip and the journey it will bring me on with my friends from our parish and other parishes.

Testimony

"Are you religious?"

That's a question I've been asked many times by people when I told them I'm Christian. Wearing a cross, praying before meals, and going to mass on a Sunday are the typical things people think of when mentioning Christianity or being religious. These are also the majority of what I thought being Christian was when I was a child. Now that I am older I realise that being a Christian is about having a personal relationship with God. Going to him with your worries, hopes, fears, and questions, and asking for help and advice is what being a Christian I'd about. Knowing that Jesus died for the sins of all of us and that we're forgiven. My answer to the question is no, I'm not religious, but I hope to be it.
