After missing out on a lot of activities and events during the Covid pandemic, Maidenhead Lions returned with a bang in 2022 and we are now really looking forward to continuing with our work in 2023 and beyond.
Founded in 1973, our club has now reached it's 50th year of helping local people in need and supporting local charities and good causes. As well as all our repeat events & fundraisers, we are also planning to make some 'Golden Awards' in 2023 : 50 awards of up to £200 each for local groups and small charities, similar to the Platinum Awards scheme to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee; when we donated up to £250 to 70 local groups such as Guides & Scouts, sports clubs & health support. You can see more info on our website and FaceBook page - www.maidenheadlions.org.uk https://www.facebook.com/MaidenheadLionsClub/
We are 29 members strong, with some recent new recruits of mixed ages to help us too. We are a thriving club, who are proud that at least 90% of funds raised are spent locally, and when we donate abroad it is always through LCIF (Lions Clubs International Foundation) to help with natural and man made disasters such as the Pakistan Floods or Tsunamis or to help Ukraine's people.
