It was with a very heavy heart that we closed our doors in March, in line with government guidance, it was, of course, the right thing to do.

We are exploring all the emergency government funding options but, as in normal times we are supported, first and foremost, by you, every time you visit, when you park your car, take a train or buggy tour, dine in our fabulous restaurant, or purchase a gift in our shop. Closure has a huge impact on our ability to earn income, the income that allows us to be freely open to all. Meanwhile costs continue, and Government support will not cover everything, so we still have to fund things like grounds maintenance to ensure our beautiful Arboretum is safe and beautiful when we reopen.

Whilst you can't currently visit us, you can keep supporting us from home, so that when we meet again some sunny day, we are in great shape to welcome you back and continue the great work we do.

Every penny really does count so we have set up our Just Giving campaign Some Sunny Day and would be delighted if you could donate the £20 or more perhaps, the money you would have spent on site anyway in normal times. Acting together, we can get through this and have a focus to look forward to, exploring our tranquil site reflecting on, and showing gratitude for, the remarkable work all our front-line services have undertaken.

Lets take a leaf out of the spirit and resolve our memorials teach us and keep our national treasure in the best possible condition, ready to be there for us all when this is all over Some Sunny Day.
