Story

The Parochial Church Council (PCC) for Newport Minster is slowly refurbishing the church to remove current barriers for its use and enjoyment, to make the building welcoming and accessible to all.

The project will create new facilities including an accessible lavatory, underfloor heating, activity and learning spaces and a new kitchen and servery. We wish to support those from low income families and the over 65's and forge new links with other cultural organisations on the island, sharing resources and learning to boost visitor numbers to Newport.

We will complete the external repairs to the stonework and roof, ensuring the building is taken off Historic England's at Risk Register, and add a dynamic activity and interpretation plan to tell the history of the building and famous people associated with its past.
