The Right Track Project at Oasisplay has the fantastic opportunity to join the Innovative and exciting ProtoEV STEM Challenge Programme which is being run by the inspirational Nile Henry and his team at The Blair Project in Manchester in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), 3D 360, Northern Automotive Alliance and Institute of Physics
It is an 8 month programme which will involve our local Right Track Project young people and staff learning how to convert one of our beloved petrol karts into an Electric kart!
The team will learn about electric engines which will be hugely beneficial for the project as we move towards becoming an all electric track. It will also enhance our young people's employability, preparing them to become part of the the electric car industry.
After building the electric kart, the Right Track team will take part in a race with other teams from around the country - we're confident that we have some of the best young drivers around so that should be a lot of fun. The other teams don't stand a chance!
At Oasisplay one our long term ambitions has been for the Right Track Project to become a fully electric track so this programme will be a very firm first step in that direction.
The next PhotoEV programme starts in November 22. We need to raise £10,000 which will cover an e motor, master controller, charger, handbook, rules and regulations, basic tools, master classes, entry fees, 2 x test days, race final, prizes and insurance.
