Story
For people who live with neurological conditions, everyday activities such as working, shopping or even getting out of bed can be impacted by constant pain and fatigue, paralysis, muscle weakness, poor mobility, poor bladder control, seizures and confusion.
The benefits of breathing in pure oxygen are proven to be regenerative and long-lasting. Through our Oxygen Generator appeal, were asking you to enable us to help many more people.
By summer 2022 we plan to buy our own oxygen generator. This will take away the rapidly rising cost of rental and significantly increase our capacity to deliver oxygen therapy to more people. In 2021, we provided 5,000 oxygen therapy sessions and we want to increase that by 1,000 this year alone.
There isnt another centre like us in the Lothians. We provide affordable access to oxygen therapy, subsidising fees and waiving the cost for those who struggling financially. By installing our own oxygen generator, we will save at least £16,000 each and every year; £160,000 over 10 years - a significant sum for a small charity.
We need to raise £100,000 through our Talkin' 'bout our Generation.... appeal. We have already raised £52,000 towards our goal of a summer 2022 installation. Will you join us in ensuring that goal becomes a reality?
The illness left me with extreme exhaustion, joint pain, muscle spasms and I would sleep for days on end without feeling refreshed I am amazed at the results of oxygen therapy. I still have occasional days absent from work, but 3 days rather than 3 months."
